Thomas "TJ" Schwingle
Born in the snowy reaches of the North and now in evergreen Southern California, Thomas Schwingle (often called “TJ” for short) has been an artist from day one. It started with drawing, painting, writing, and photography–all crafts that he continues to practice. As a young adult he led himself to Cinematography and has been working as a highly-respected filmmaker for over a decade.
Technically challenging commercials with many moving parts; imaginative music videos that have streamed millions of times; and a career dedicated to strong narrative storytelling: Thomas strives to manifest the best possible images for the directors he collaborates with. He advocates for thorough preproduction, cooperation among all departments, and film sets that are organized and fun to be part of.
Thomas hires inclusive crews and seeks out directors with stories that are important. The best feeling to him is creating something new that gives voice to an idea never before seen on screen. Authenticity and genuineness are paramount.
In his spare time, Thomas tries to travel and continues to make fine art. He volunteered for four years as a wildland firefighter protecting the parks around Los Angeles. He is an uncle to two small humans and a “Cat Uncle” to an orange tabby that demands food every morning at sunrise. Every. Morning.
